Frequently Asked Questions
Orders & shipping
How long does shipping take?
Orders are dispatched within 1 to 3 business days, and delivery usually takes another 5 to 12 business days depending on where you are. Every order is tracked, so you can follow it the whole way. See our shipping page for full details.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently ship across the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. If you're outside those regions, email us and we'll try to help.
Will I have to pay customs or duties?
For most orders within our shipping regions there are no extra charges. In the rare case a duty applies, it's the recipient's responsibility, so email us first if you're unsure.
Can I change my address after ordering?
If your order hasn't shipped yet, we can usually update it. Email us as soon as possible with your order number and the correct address.
How do I track my order?
You'll get a tracking link by email the moment your order ships. If it hasn't updated in a few days, email us and we'll chase it for you.
Returns & refunds
What is your return policy?
You have 30 days from delivery to return an item for a full refund. If it isn't right for your child, that's reason enough. See our returns page.
Do I have to pay return shipping?
For a change-of-mind return, yes, you cover return shipping and we'll send you the address and instructions. If an item arrives damaged or faulty, we cover it in full.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Email us a photo within 30 days and we'll send a replacement or full refund straight away. You won't need to return the damaged item first.
Can I exchange a product?
Yes. Tell us when you start your return and we'll help you swap it for a different theme, size, or stage.
Product safety & materials
Are your toys really tested?
Yes, and not by us marking our own homework. Every product is checked by independent, accredited labs against ASTM F963, EN-71, and CE requirements before it earns a place on the store. The full story is on our Safety Promise page.
What does BPA-free actually mean?
BPA is a chemical used in some plastics that you really don't want ending up in little mouths. BPA-free means it was never used, and we go further, checking our toys are free from phthalates and lead too.
Are the paints and stains safe to chew?
Yes. We only stock toys finished with water-based, non-toxic finishes that meet toy-safety standards for mouthing, because we know that's exactly what a toddler will do with them.
How do I clean wooden toys safely?
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap, then dry right away. Don't soak them or put them in the dishwasher, and re-oil with food-grade mineral oil occasionally to keep the wood healthy.
What if my child has a wood allergy?
Wood allergies are rare, but email us and we'll tell you the exact species and finish used so you can decide with confidence.
The Montessori method
What does Montessori-inspired actually mean?
It means our toys follow the principles Dr. Maria Montessori observed: natural materials, one skill at a time, open-ended and child-led play. Learn more on our Montessori Method page.
Are your toys AMI-certified?
No, and we're honest about that. AMI certifies training and schools, not toys. We describe our range as Montessori-inspired because it's built on the method's principles.
How do I know which age group is right for my child?
We group everything by developmental stage rather than a single age, so you can match a toy to what your child is working on now. Not sure? Email us and we'll recommend.
Why are Montessori toys more expensive than plastic ones?
Natural materials, real safety testing, and durable construction cost more than mass plastic. The upside is a toy that lasts for years and can be handed down rather than thrown away.
